PRACTICING Stitching with beads
Beside good instruments a good tecnique is required.

This is the method we suggest.

Thread you needle with two plies of thread in a color very close to that one of the fabric you are stitching on (or if you prefer similar to beads)
Come out in the lower left corner of the square you want to place the bead.
1 Put the bead in the needle and back down in 2 keeping the bead on line.

2 Come out in 1 and back again in the other part of the bead in 2 splitting the two strands so thast one goes on each side of the bead.

3 Pull firmly to keep the bead into position.

Otherwise you could use a clear beading thread.

Always use two strands of floss when you attatch beads.
Come out from 1, go thru the hole of the bead then down in 2. Again out from 1, then split the strands so that one goes on each side of the bead then again down in 2. This will help in keeping the bead into position. So you will stitch two half crosses for the same bead, into the same holes.

Otherwise you can come out from 1, thru the bead, the down in 2. Then up from 3, split the strands around the bead and down in 4. In this way you will stitch a complete cross: the first half-cross thru the bead, the second one to mantain the bead on line.

If you are stitching on perforated paper and you brake it you can repair the damage putting a coffe or tea filter under the paper and stitch on it. Filter is light and strong and can help not to start the stitching again.

To attach some separate beads on linen, you could use a thread of the same linen to match it perfectly.

Iron the fabric before attatching beads that could be damaged from heat and pressure. Stitch preferably using an hoop.
