FINISHING Get Personal
Many stitchers like to put some personal information inside a finished project, leaving a personal track for future generations who may someday inherit the piece.

Somebody write on the back of the mounting a message with different information: to whom is the project dedicate, the occasion for the embroidery, when started and finished, the original name of the chart and the designer, name and date.

Somebody else add infos regarding materials or on special stitches used when working.

If stitched for wedding or birth, somebody else add a picture or the announcement.
If the list is long, some others put a plastic bag on the back of the framing containing all the possible infos and some times some samples of threads or fabric.
The problem become bigger for antique sampler reproductions'lovers: some stitchers work exactly the chart as it is including name and date of the original stitcher or some others change them with personal data. But this could seem a lack of homage to the original.

Here are some suggestions how to get cross-stitch sampler personal not only on the back but even on the work.

Under the lower border of the sampler you could stitch: "faithfully reproduced by… then name and date. Add signature, data or any other infos stitching in back stitch on a not visible part of the fabric once framed. Or simply try to put initials or date along corners or not eveident position in matching colors.

Having projects personalised is very important for whom design their own projects: the main actress of the piece must add personal infos
