FINISHING Photographing needleworks |
 |
Photographing our own creations can be the best way to keep memories of all the embroideries stitched not only for us but to be given away as gift or sold.
Here are some suggestions to get the best results:
Put the embroidery down from walls and take pictures on a flat surface.
Photograph possibly in daylight.
Take off glass to avoid reflex.

Take different shots of the same embroidery in different sets and different lights, to choose the best.
Select a proper background: a light background for a projects stitched on dark fabric. For a light fabric with a bright frame, a dark background is fine.
A wall paper with tiny designs can be a suitable background if colors match.
Keep all the pictures together in an album (with stitched cover, maybe) completing each pictures with related infos:
title of the project, designer, magazine, year, fabric, threads, accessories used.
Tracks of your changing taste, choise, and techinque will be kept in time and it will be nice to go through them.
